Hey guys!
I have a favor to ask of all of you. I work in the Smithsonian Latino Center, and this year the Smithsonian Summer Showdown will determine how much extra funding each Smithsonian museum and center gets. The Latino Center and the Asian Pacific American Center have teamed up and submitted one entry: the Korean Taco. We're competing in the Culture category, and our opponents are the Folklife Center with their recent Kenyan and Chinese cultural festival, the Museum of the American Indian with their Native Foods Cafe, and Smithsonian Recordings with "This Land Is Your Land". So we're the underdog of our group, but every vote gets us a little more funding, and I'd love to see the Korean Taco held up as the ultimate symbol of the United States' incredible cultural diversity and creativity. So I realized I've basically disappeared from here as of late, and I've not really explained myself. I've been taking a break from non-class-related artwork due to poor mental health and I'm not sure when I'll be back to posting here. Thank you guys so much for your support- seriously, you've been great- and I'll see you later!

…when you come across what you think is gonna be a cool new music blog to follow, but then they refer to Yoko Ono as "the Dragon Lady"?


I mean, I understand that she's not everyone's cup of tea, and if you don't understand her art and don't like her music I can respect that, but that's really not an excuse to use tired old racist and sexist slurs against her. Then I'm just going to think you're a dumbass.

Moral of this story is, anyone who refers to Yoko Ono as "the Dragon Lady" can unwatch me right now, because that's just gross.
